Ammonites are the fossil remains of an extinct group of sea animals. Their name is derived from their spiral shape, resembling rams horns. Ancients called them “Horns of Ammon” because the god Ammon wore rams horns. Ammonites come in a variety of beautiful shapes, as can be seen from their fossils.
